The Madrid Cableway - Casa de Campo Station, also known as Teleferico, has been in operation since 1969 and offers a 2.5-km cable car ride providing stunning views of the city's landmarks. The narrated tour highlights iconic attractions such as the Parque del Oeste, Manzanares River, Egyptian Debod temple, Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral, and Casa de Campo with its lake and Amusement Park.
This is a very cool way of getting around town. A straight connection to Casa Campo from the centre of Madrid, offering an overview of the city with a retro vibe. Definitely worth a visit, away from busy and touristy downtown.

Entre semana no hay mucha gente.(Translated by Google)An unforgettable experience on the one hand because the GPS left me at the lake in Casa de Campo and we had to walk to the cable car, which is about 2 km, I think, and on the other hand the feeling of seeing Madrid from above. At the Madrid station next door there is a rose garden that is highly recommended to visit and then go to the Temple of Debod to enjoy wonderful views of the palace. I bought the tickets online to avoid lines at the box office. During the week there are not many people.

Acogedoras instalaciones, y muy amable el personal.(Translated by Google)Nice way to discover Madrid from the air, an affordable price for a ride of about half an hour on a cable car built more than 50 years ago. Great service, we didn't realise we needed face masks and the security man provided these for us for free without us having to wait in the queue as we had prebooked our tickets. Amazing views of Madrid from the cable car and the viewpoint

Not friendly staff at all. We got to the cable car on the top of the hill and the lady who was there told us we couldn’t buy the tickets even when there were just 10 people standing on the line and it letf 1,30 hours until it closed. Any explanation was given. We asked to buy the tickets online at the same moment and she told us it only works if you get the them the day before. So if you are managing to do it make sure you plan it the day before and buy the tickets online. Otherwise you could find yourself on the top of the hill with no chances of getting back to Madrid with no other ways but walking for a while.

Pretty good views. You can walk around after and take the cable Cars back after. The cafe is still closed for renovations.. Stinks cause we went on a hot day and ice cream or a snack would have been perfect!

The experience is spectacular because you can see many tourist places from Madrid. If I will give you a suggestion, go very early, especially on weekends, because there are a lot of people. If you go very early, you will have no problem queuing or going up quickly to the cable car.

We liked it! The ride was nice, mostly above roads, houses and the park. But you can see the palace from a distance and the amusement park. We enjoyed the ride. If you come with a car you can park at Casa de campo, I think it's free to park there. Take the round trip to the other side, visit the city and grab the cable car back to the departure point, back to your car.

Not a must… but if you can find the place you will enjoy good aerial views of Madrid.Best time to go in the late afternoon so you can avoid the heat on your walk there.Do not go from the Principe Pío metro station, the walk is steep and you can get lost in some sketchy neighborhoods. The best way to go is from the Royal Palace walking through the park and on your way there you can enjoy the wonderful views of the Temple Debod! Hope you enjoy!

The cafeteria closed and little atmosphere in general. There was only bustle in the queue to get into the cabins. It is true that without waiting time. They have changed most of the cabins, which were previously blue. The landscape is the same, what has changed is the renaturalization of the Manzanares River, which looks greener although with less water. I leave you a before and after photo. In the house part of the country house you can have a snack in the surroundings and the kids can play. In the Pintor Rosales part, we have the rose garden, a place to walk, although obviously in May it is at its maximum splendor.

Great way to cross to Casa de Campo. You will enjoy panoramic views of Madrid, especially the royal palace and cathedral. You will also cross the Madrid River, which is not a mighty river but still pleasant. Casa de Campo is a beautiful forest where you can stroll and wander aimlessly for quite some time. The two way ticket is fairly priced at 6 euros for adults and the journey takes about 10 to 12 minutes. Expect some waiting time as it can get busy.

Vale 4€ un solo recorrido y 6€ Ida y vuelta.(Translated by Google)I have lived in Madrid for 15 years and it is the first time I have visited the cable car. You won't see anything but enough to put your mobile camera and film the route. It's like you used a drone. It costs €4 for a single tour and €6 round trip.

Holy Moses!!!! What a cool tour! Its not a long ride there or back but on a clear day you can see foreverrrrrr. I did have a bit of a hard time finding the price, so, its 3 Euro each way. At the top you will be able to stroll around for a while, its kind of hard to take pictures of the city as the trees are a bit in the way, but still worth the trip. Hint, on the way back you can take pictures using the open window rather than thru the glass, the trip back is where you will get better scenic pictures, be very careful of your device, if it drops you have a forest (literally) to search thru for it.

The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple that was moved to Madrid and rebuilt in a parkland setting with stunning views of the sunset.
It was cool to see a piece of Egyptian history in the centre of town of Madrid. Besides that, the park that it's in is even nicer. Cool views over Madrid, the Royal palace, palm trees, cherry blossoms and a very chill vibe. People relaxing, picnicking, playing music. Loved it

Overall it was a great visit. Did not bothered to get inside as they just allow 10people at a time inside and can stay up to 30minutes, when we arrive early in the afternoon there was a long queue already. But the outside is perfectly nice, no water as we can see from other photos when I visited it this morning. Just walk around, the panoramic view itself is amazing.

Used the hop-on-hop-off bus to come north of the city to visit this. The bus stop is right outside the entrance of the park the temple is in. There is great restaurant there as well we had lunch in before venturing into the park. The temple itself is small, when we visited there was no water around it/in the moat. We didn't queue to go in because it was long, it was a hot day and my 4 year old wouldn't wait (neither would I to be honest).Interesting temple, in an odd place in a park in Spain and not a desert in Egypt but worth seeing

Super cute place for catching a sunset or a little picnic with a partner, friends or just yourself! Unfortunately we were there on a cloudy rainy day but still totally worth it. It’s a hidden gem not a lot of people know or think about. The monument itself is free but be prepared to wait a little

While the Temple isn't impressive per se, it is located in a nice area in the city of Madrid, with a great lookout spot that allows for a beautiful panoramic view of the city. The history of the temple itself is interesting, as it was an ancient Egyptian temple that was dismantled and eventually rebuilt in the middle of the city. Worth of a visit if you're around the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

Being someone that has never been to Egypt this was really interesting. I enjoy the outside and also visited the inside. It was quite something to find something like this right in the center of Madrid. The surroundings are also really nice, and there's also a park nearby. The place is high so you get quite a view.

Lovely spot to visit and great views across the city. We approached through the park below and there's a great play area for children there. Everyone should know that even though it is free to visit, you are supposed to book a time slot before coming.Everyone working there was SUUPPEERRR NICE. Very kind. Also, the temple looks really small but actually has two floors. I feel the design is fantastic that way, and so is the staff. ✨️💜

This is an astonishing site. It cannot be stressed enough that there are very few places outside of Egypt that can boast such a monument, and this is spectacular, particularly at sunset. The only, only complaint is there is no reflecting pool. Speaking to the security on the site, it hasn’t been the case for four years due to faulty plumbing. I would strongly recommend that the city sort this out immediately because it really does make a monument like this stand out and shows real care to a beautiful and prestigious gift. If you don’t use it, you lose it.Absolute must if you’re in Madrid.
R S — Google review
The water has dried up or they stopped maintaining it but the place is still beautiful with or without water. You must visit this place during sunset for some great pictures. There is so much history about this place, it was bought from Egypt many centuries ago, so having such a great historical monument right in the middle of the city is great. There is a big queue outside for entrance into the temple.
Kiran O — Google review
The temple originally belongs to 200 BC, refurbished in 1972. We could not enter inside the temple as the queue was long and they allow only 10 people at a time. But the surroundings are very nice, cool and peaceful. One can escape from the heat and relax in the nearby park. Also walk upto the Royal palace using the dedicated walking path. There are many nice places to visit on the way to the palace. Overall it's worth visiting.

You've gotta check out this awesome local park that's got a real Egyptian temple right in Spain! How cool is that? The Egyptian government gifted it to the Spanish folks, making it one unique spot. The atmosphere is totally easy-going and pleasant, and both locals and tourists love to kick back and enjoy the breathtaking sunset in this magical setting. It's a must-visit place that's bound to leave you in awe!

Was very nice, located in a park, you can walk the grounds but only a couple of people at a time, there was a line when I went. It didn’t take too long. Was in very nice condition, area was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful; would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

The line was like everlasting and it moved in a glacial pace. I didn’t even get to go inside, in fact we were close to the gate before they cut us off. It’s free but you’re better off just taking some pictures then leaving. I would have to say if you’re there around sunset, stick around to get some magnificent pictures with the sun in the background.

This is an ancient Egyptian building that was received as a gift from Egypt in 1968 in return for helping move Nubian temples, which were in danger of being submerged due to the construction of the Aswan Dam, to other location. It is about 2200 years old. When brought to Spain, it was positioned so as to maintain approximately the same orientation as its place of origin, from east to west. It is a great place for a beautiful sunset.

Great experience on my first weekend in Madrid. I queued to get in for about 1hr, but it was worth to. You can then get close to those ancient mysterious architecture to have some photo with them. Photos also allowed inside, just if not to turn in the flash.

A really neat piece of history, and a free experience. The queue moves very slow as the temple is quite small. There isn’t a ton to see inside, and the video is Spanish only, but there is a free information guide in a variety of different languages. A couple of the rooms were closed as well during our visit.

This is place is very interesting to visit and entry is for free! However, tickets need to be booked in advance to secure a spot, as only 15ppl groups will be allowed every 30min.Some pictures of this spot show water around the temple, that’s no longer the way it looks. Apparently there’s a carpark underneath and there was filtering which was causing the water to leak, so at the moment the water has been removed.During summer it’s incredibly hot to be on the outside of the temple, I recommend an early visit. Inside the temple there’s aircon available so it’s ok!20min is more than enough to see the inside and outside of the temple.
Anto N — Google review
Right before sunset is the perfect time to visit this temple. We didn't enter it as we already visited the whole temple here in Egypt but we loved it and took great pictures next to it. There was a long queue to enter since closing time approached so if you want to enter you'd better visit earlier.

This is an interesting place to visit if your have time in Madrid. It is free admission but the wait time is more than one hour as they only allow 10-15 people inside at a time, and they can stay there up to 30 minutes. We waited close to two hours. Once inside most of the display description is in Spanish. We were able to understand most of it, but this might not be worthwhile for young children as they might not understand.

If you see a line of +100 people expect to spend more that 1h wait time (wish someone would have told me that) because maximum capacity inside is 10 people and it takes +15min for 5 people to tour.Overall a good (and unexpected) experience. You get to see Egyptian chambers and stones with hieroglyphs but that's about it (see pictures). There are a few rooms bellow and a another one in the first floor (there was another entrance but it was closed).Entrance is free.

One of the most magnificent temples I have ever visited is in Egypt (Aswan). As a token of appreciation for Spain's assistance during the construction of the high dam, the Egyptian government presented it to Spain.I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and hope to return it to its original place (Egypt) in the future. It was a temple dedicated to the god Amun, according to ancient Egyptian beliefs. This demonstrates that Egyptian civilization predates recorded history.

Took the hop on/off bus to this location after stumbling across it on google maps.It was a great choice to explore because when we arrived (8pm on Wednesday), the surrounding park was filled with energy from musicians and friends gathering to watch the panoramic views of the city below as the sun set.Definitely a must see stop for visitors and you can spend as little or as long as you like here before hopping back on the bus to continue to other excursions.
Adgie M — Google review
The queue took about an hour. They let only four people in at one time. There is no shelter and can sit only at the kerb of the pool, so it can be painful in the sun. Inside if you'd like a souvenir, you need cash, and only from a certain time. The entry is free, though, which is cool. Inside it will take you around 15 minutes and you'll see some carvings on the walls, Egyptian style. There is also an upstairs with a couple more of the "drawings."

It a really good place to go in the evening to view the temple and then go to the park the temple is surrounded by and viewing the sun going down. You will have nice view all over Madrid and it’s very beautiful. You can sit on the grass and enjoy the sunset while eating something. There might be a lot of people but the park is very big so you should get a place to enjoy the sunset even on the weekend.

The small chapel located behind the Royal Palace in Madrid, features stunning frescoes by Francesco Goya that tell the story of St Anthony and his miraculous healing powers. The attraction is frequented mainly by art lovers who come to pay their respects to one of Spanish history's most famous painters.
This is a hidden off the beaten track marvel. We reached it by taking a short bus ride from the center. There is no entrance fee nor too many visitors. Goya’s paintings cover the ceilings and it was made during his creative peak. Personally this has to be one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling experiences art ever gave me.

Be prepared that they will be closed without any warning on their website or any other place. They are completely disrespectful of other peoples’ time. If you are not in the area do not go out of your way to go to a place that could be closed on a whim with a simple “sorry” sign over their claimed hours. I have no problem with places being closed but if you are a museum run by the city you should have the respect and capacity to tell people. Like I said, they have no respect. This is a place not many would be interested enough to go out of their way to visit and they spit in the face of those that are interested. Hopefully someone takes over and runs it with respect for others. It is a bad look for the city of Madrid to treat people like this.

Was absolutely beautiful, Francisco Goya is buried here and he has a lovely church and tomb inside. The painting is very lovely, staff were very friendly, you cannot take pictures when inside; was definitely worth stopping by. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

This is a very small church with one of the most beautiful interiors we’ve seen yet. We’ve seen a lot of Goya paintings, but none more beautiful than the frescoes Goya painted here. Goya is buried here and it is only fitting that his resting place is adorned with his best art. Entry is free and you will be asked not to take photos when your free ticket is handed to you. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was not very busy. Since no photos are allowed, we asked if there were any printed images of the frescoes available, and a nice book (only in Spanish) is available for €2.00. We usually make a point not to spend any extra money in places that don’t allow photos, but made an exception here since entry was free. The book is very nice (worth 3X+ what they charge) and has the images of all the frescoes and the history of the place. For Goya fans, this is a must visit. This place is a 20-25 min walk from Plaza de España. We spent 20 min looking at the frescoes in here. This church is closed on Mondays.

A peaceful little Chapel containing the tomb of the painter Goya, gazed down on by the distinctive beady eyes of nymphs and cherubs in frescoes painted by the artist.Enjoyment moderately diminished by the 15 minute wait for entry because the Chapel was filled by a tour group being bored stiff by the superfluous commentary of their verbose guide piped into their earbuds.Commentary unnecessary. Just sit and contemplate.Note to management. Ban tour guides.Note: photography not allowed. Just looking.

This place is a bit out of the way, but worth making the effort for. Inside the right hand of two mirror inage churches (I think) you'll find an interior painted with Goya frescos. It's not huge, but it's free, the chamber is very harmonius and Goya's tomb is also here. Apparently it is the only place in Madrid where you can see Goya's work in it's original setting.
Alex C — Google review
Impressive al fresco paintings of Goya, who is buried in this place. There is a very nice video explaining the history of the church and the paintings although it is in Spanish, so it's worth it to read some info before. There are some mirrors that help to have a better look at the paintings.

Place outside the normal tourist areas. Small church with Goya frescoes inside. The painter grave is here. Photo shots are not allowed.
Ermanno P — Google review
Such a beautiful place! A tiny “church” with a stunning ceiling… but be careful it’s not allowed to take picture so you need to be smart 😉
Tom B — Google review
No photos inside. You can admire the frescoes of Francisco de Goya. A must see in Madrid!

I can't believe this place is not on the radar. Amazing Goya frescos and chappel his tomb is actually here as well. Don't miss this and it's free.

If you love Goya…this is an absolutely MUST see. It’s amazing. Don’t miss the statue across the street.
Noel H — Google review
Gorgeous lifelike frescoes, the mirrors help you see them easily - make sure to look in all 4. Can't believe it's free. Such a change from Goya's later work, you can literally see how much losing his sight affected him
Mindy H — Google review
Free to go in and worth seeing if open. (Have lunch on a nearby terrace along the river or with views of the river. Then maybe head to the teleferico where you can tid over the dos de mayo cemetery / church / wall featured in that painting.) The works of Goya are really impressive. His tomb is also front and center. Kind of relaxing. Takes no more than 10 to 20 minutes. Not really a place you want to take toddlers as there isn't much for them to look at, and no place where it feels like you can let them run around. If they make noise, the space is small and everyone will hear and see it, and not the Spanish type space where people will enjoy that. (Though employees were lovely with ours.)
Laura H — Google review
Worth a trip to see the Goya murals, very impressive. They have some clever mirrors that let you see the highest murals magnified. All the explanatory panels are in Spanish only.

The Joaquin Sorolla Museum is a small museum in Madrid dedicated to the Spanish painter who spent his life here. The home and studio of Joaquín Sorolla are filled with paintings of scenes from Andalusia, Spain's sunny southern region. Visitors can wander through the paintings and gardens and learn about the artist's life and work.
Former house of the impressionist painter, now transformed into a museum. It is a pleasant visit where you can see some of the original paints of Sorrolla, sculptures, furniture and potter present in the house. All these objects are exhibited within 6-8 rooms and gardens with information available to read in every room. Certainly, it is worth the visit

We love the light is Sorolla's paintings: look at it and you are there on the beach too! And in the garden with beautiful red flowers.Seeing his family photos and the marvelous statues makes their family home alive!I like to see how he has used colour and large strokes of paint. Great painter!!
Elina J — Google review
It used to be the house of the artist and his family, it's absolutely beautiful, with an Andalusian style garden and patio. They kept the original furniture. The exhibition of the paintings is on two levels and it covers the portraits of the family members and the famous paintings of the beach. It's well connected by public transport
Cristina H — Google review
Fantastic small museum in the artist's Madrid home. Gardens, rooms and exhibits are well laid out and interesting. Laminated info sheets in several languages in each room were very helpful.Definitely worth the metro ride if you aren't staying locally. A lovely way to spend an hour or so. Quick moving queue outside on the street but more about managing flow in than capacity.
John M — Google review
Such a charming museum. Small, which is a relief after visiting the major ones, and full of Sorolla’s light and warm paintings. After the visit one can relax in the beautiful garden. A must see.
Kysenia P — Google review
Such a lovely atmosphere! I recognized Sorolla's work but was not familiar enough with him to put this museum at the top of my list. It's such a beautiful house and garden and the feeling there is peaceful and quiet--despite my being chastised by the docent for accidentally bumping into a chair! I listened to the audio tour and still found the laminated cards helpful. The upstairs was closed today. It was a refreshing break after the the Prado and Reina Sofia, especially since it was very inexpensive and I could take all the pics I wanted.
Saysha R — Google review
This is a gorgeous body of work in a beautiful home. A bit outside the city center, it is worth the expense of a cab. There are no barriers between the art and viewers, so it is an intimate experience. I am so glad I saw a Sorolla piece exhibited in the Prado museum. It prompted me to visit this museum to see more.

Joaquín Sorolla’s house (now museum) is a hidden gem. Loved the pomegranates growing with lemons in the garden, and his art of course.Note: if you’re a senior citizen it’s free, but you can’t buy tickets online. Make sure to take your ID to the ticket desk, no problem and staff are great.

Sorolla family house in the centre of Madrid, very well preserved. The kitchen is the most authentic room in the house, it is as it was during the days when the Sorolla family used it.The gardens are pretty, refreshing and calming. They have master classes which seemed really interesting!Hurry to visit, they are closing for reconstructions in September 2024.
Lana J — Google review
This museum is Sorolla’s former family home. It is peaceful, full of light and creative energy. Sorolla’s love for light, water and his family radiate throughout the museum. The garden is a hidden oasis in the middle of the city. Free entry. English audio guide was helpful and available for a small fee

It is a very worthy museum of Art that recommended to visit. It is not only a great painter and his amazing paintings, but also this is house where he used to live it with his own family.
Sakda S — Google review
An incredible museum in the former home of Sorolla. The garden is available to visit as well. To respect the structure of the home and have as little impact as possible, the ticket office is in the basement through the garden. The signs to the ticket office are not clear and I had to ask. Throughout there are plaques describing the home when Sorolla and his family lived there.

This place is absolutely perfect. I feel like I've been invited to Soroya's house. Here you can see beautiful and charming gardens and overwhelming masterpieces. I saw Soroya's work for the first time. I fell in love with Soroya's painting at first sight. I could see how affectionately he painted his family and nature. A warm, beautiful picture.

I have wanted to visit this museum for ages, have several books of his work and have been slightly obsessed with seeing it. This museum is really worth a visit. The gardens are stunning and it is a nice collection of his work, the ability to see his studios and get an idea of the man behind the work. Highly recommend this - only negative is that the staff are the usual unfriendly sort that seem to prevail in museums. I smiled at one person and she cut me dead with a death stare, not even a muscle in her face moved, just ice cold. But because it is so wonderful, I will still give 5 stars.
Janice G — Google review
Fascinating museum: compact, not crowded, and truly gorgeous. Filled with Sorolla’s life in addition to his art. You’ll see pieces you recognize but you’ll also see Sorolla art you’ve never seen elsewhere (like his paintings/murals to decorate the top of his dining room).PRO TIP: Buy tickets in advance for the first slot of the day. Line up outside the gate a little before opening and be the first ones through the gate and into the building (pre purchased tickets enter on the upper right as you go through the gardens). This will let you be the first ones into his house/museum (all my pictures from here with no one in them were from this time).
Edward R — Google review
The museum is small, but very charming. It's housed in what was originally Sorolla's house. Some rooms are still furnished as they were during Sorolla's life, including his studio. The upstairs rooms are a gallery for temporary exhibitions.
Lori — Google review
I really liked this museum. It was free the day we visited (normally admission is about 3 euros). There is a small quiet indoor courtyard with a fountain and flowers. Indoors, you can see many different paintings done by the artist, as well as some sculptures and even the artist's last painting supplies. There is a small gift shop with prints, magnets, etc. based on his paintings.
Hannah S — Google review
I loved the painter, but the museum itself was not good. There were not many of his major works, and presentations and information were not friendly to foreigners. But the fee is cheap. You are better to buy online because there was long lines for buying tickets on site.
Brian K — Google review
Free after 14h but the queue is very long. The museum is tiny and the visit is short. It’s worth the visit if you’re lucky and don’t have to wait that long in the queue
Mónica T — Google review
A beautiful small museum, it shows through the life of the artist through his paintings and trips.Loved the demonstration of the art and the timeline while walking around the house. The ticket prices are very affordable. It’s a short museum tour, worth the time.

Went on a weekday, late afteroon, got my ticket online. No cue at all to enter the museum. Though another day I saw one so long that it finished around the front of the museum's gates. So it's best to buy your tickets in advance just in case.Inside you can find some papers with information about the room you're in and the artists. Photographs are allowed here, but no flash or noise. The painting were breathtaking. When I went I was only able to see the first floor, the second floor was under maintenance.Overall would recommend to go and visit it when you get the chance!!
Paula C — Google review
This is a neat museum. It includes much more than paintings, and you get a nice glimpse into Sorolla's life. Students get in for free. It's just a bit small, which makes for a short visit. The upstairs was closed, so maybe it's usually more extensive.
Amanda P — Google review
They have kept the house in beautiful condition. The art pieces are in wonderful shape, the museum is educational, and there are English translations for most things. The gardens outside were lovely as well! There was a 30 minute wait to get in.
Theresa B — Google review
Very good, small gallery devoted to the exceptional artist. Gardens are as beautiful as his family was.
Robin L — Google review
This is a hidden gem among Madrid's museums. Absolutely worth to visit. Well organized. There are plastic information sheets in the rooms in 4-5 languages, with pictures and numbering, so you can read everything about the painter's life, family and household items. If you like impressionist pictures, it's a must-see!
Renáta S — Google review
A small collection of Sorolla’s evocative paintings, that take you to those “good old days” when life was drowned in pink sunsets and the sea was crystal blue. The gardens are pretty and inviting. It can get quite busy and feel overwhelming as it is a small space.
Nikos P — Google review
What a gem! I was unfamiliar with Sorolla, but what an exceptional painter. The home and gardens were equally gorgeous. And for 3 euros, it's a tremendous value. Small but worth the stop!
Samantha K — Google review
We loved it! It was a great way to get to know the artist better. The gardens were also very nice. All for 3 euros!
Naty C — Google review
One of my favorite museums ever! Extremely inexpensive for a priceless memory. Sorolla just became a new favorite artist. His home left me inspired to go home and make my own art.
Cooper E — Google review
It is one of the best-preserved artist's houses in Europe. Created in 1911, it was used as an atelier and home by Joaquín Sorolla. It was opened as an exhibition space in 1932 according to the will written by his wife, Clotilde García del Castillo. It is a leisurely space. Walking here, you can get an idea of the life Soraya pursued.

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is a legendary ground with a capacity of over 85,000. It is home to one of the most successful football clubs in Europe and is regularly filled with fans supporting their team. The stadium features self-guided tours that let you explore all the different areas, including the dressing rooms, the press room and even onto the pitch itself.
This is a must see place in spaim for real madrid fans. The tickets can be bought online. The store has some shopping session with jourseys and other sports item. All are costly though starting with a tshirt costs 175 euro. They do have museum for show casing the cups and medals. And thats a must view. Right now in August end 2023 they were doing some constructions and hence we couldnt see all part of stadium..

Got a chance to visit stadium, which was under construction, but really mesmerising. We bought tickets online which saved as 3 euros per person. The stadium tour also includes the museum tour. Overall it was a very good experience. Total time needed for a non football fan is 1 and half hour. For a football fan it might need a day .. so plan accordingly and go

First time here. Really wanted to watch this great club live. The stadium will be insane once finished, but right now under massive construction, and it really takes away A LOT from the overall experience. You can't enter through entrance closes to your seats - need to walk around to another part - then it's a little maze inside.Nothing is finished inside all concrete at the moment. No vendors, no food or beverage stalls.Just some random guys selling a minimal amount of items from their coolers. The worst thing is not the queues, but that they don't take cards - simply don't understand why?! So simple to organise, and much quicker than cash! The seats inside are pretty small, compared to English or most other European destination stadiums. Very uncomfortable to sit through the entire game. The pitch is amazing, the football was great at times.Would like to come back when it's all done.

Our boys were really looking forward to this tour and to be honest we were left a little disappointed. The museum was great but the staff were very grumpy, bordering on arrogant. The tickets were discounted due to the ongoing renovations so we didn’t expect the full tour. However, due to a sound check for a concert that evening we were able to look into the stadium for about 5 seconds before we were asked to get back behind a barrier. The kids didn’t even see inside the stadium properly due to the volume of people trying to grab a quick glimpse. The experience left us all feeling a little underwhelmed which was a real shame.
Mark P — Google review
Honestly the stadium is not in the best condition. It's currently under construction. There are much better stadiums in Europe. This one is just famous for being Real Madrid. There is good access to it with the metro. Lots of helpers to show you where to enter. Stadium shop on site. The food and drink options could be a lot better. They only sell water, coke, non alcoholic beer and sandwiches. Maybe VIP get better food.
Paul H — Google review
First time in Madrid, so had to check out a Real Madrid game. This is a bonkers sized stadium fits 80k folks. There was some construction when we went so a little obnoxious to walk around the entire stadium to our section. Unlike in other stadiums I have been to you can only enter through your gate.Once in, it’s just ports potties and water vendors. They didn’t sell anything else. But when you get to your seats. It’s insane, very lively and huge. There are no huge Jumbotrons, so cant watch replays or anything of that.Overall a cool experience, but I wouldn’t say the best stadium.
Robin M — Google review
This stadium is PHENOMENAL. Best experience I've ever had at a game and a MUST visit if you are in Madrid. The energy is next to none, and there really is no bad seat. The staff is also very organized and can get people in and out with ease. Also, you won't have to worry about people sitting in your seats as they are very strict which is great. You do not want to miss out if you are in the area.

Visited the tour and museum. The tickets were reduced as there’s major construction going on to the stadium. The museum was okay, I’ve been to a few better considering it’s Real Madrid and all of the history they have. You can currently fly around this visit / tour in about 20 minutes. Best to wait until it’s re-opened fully.

Currently under construction. Not a soccer fan, but decided to visit the stadium. It was amazing even with the construction. I did not realize the great history of this football club. I highly recommend the tour of the museum and the glimpse of the inside of this magnificent structure. Makes me want to return next year to see the final product.

AMAZING experience! 80,000 fans in the stands! I highly recommend anyone visiting to go to a game. I paid $60 USD for the worst seats on the stadium, and they were amazing! Not a bad seat in the house. The locals are very passionate about the team. When the team song came on before the game, many of the girls around me were crying during the song. So much passion! Please go to a game! Definitely worth it

Nice Stadium, but it's surrounded by buildings. And not much for fans or visitors to do in and around the stadium. The Metropolitano is better in this aspect. But the Bernabeu has more History and elegance.
Kassiem — Google review
It was pretty disappointing. Works are not yet finished, so tour was shortened, no exit to the pitch, no visit to locker rooms. All else was ok, and most impressive part of the tour were the trophy rooms, since Real has few of them.

I give this 4 stars with a load of mixed emotions! If you're a fan, it's 5 stars purely based on the reality of being inside the stadium that you've probably watched on TV countless times (that was me). The actual tour experience is lacklustre and disappointing, to say the least. You literally walk through all the trophy cabinets then walk out into a section of seats you're allowed to be in (standing in the aisles in awe of seeing the stadium will get you shouted at by one of the unfriendly 'security personnel'). There are specific rows of seats that you are allowed to sit in only. There is no tour, guide, or explanation/information about the club and its history. No mention of the greats, literally just a blip in time on the wall about the Galaticos. You can sit down in the stands as long as you like. Once you walk through there are multiple people that will hound you to take photos (not of the actual place you're in, but rather in front of a green screen, I mean you could do this yourself if you wanted) the options are with a CURRENT team player only and then one with a trophy. It just screams pour some money here without having an experience! Then you will make your way into the store. There are racks and racks of clothes available, kits in almost every colour. There is one rack for women's clothes. They also do not have fitting rooms, I'm not sure why. There's loads of gimmicky type of memorabilia everywhere, however everything is only based on the current team absolutely nothing covering or including past legends. I felt there is a huge gap/opportunity there, or maybe just laziness. The place is fairly busy, like everywhere and people are buying heaps of items, I felt that most of them were just fans of the glam at face value and nothing further than that. I also am aware that it is still under construction (I was there in January as well and it was the same excuse) so I'm not sure whether there will be any improvements or real effort put into the stadium tour upon completion of the stadium.Essentially, if you're a real fan and potentially will not be travelling to Madrid again, pay and go see it. If you're indifferent or frequent Madrid often enough to experience the hype once everything is complete in a year a two, save your entrance fee, and just walk around the vicinity with a view of the exterior.
Melisha D — Google review
Tip: buy ticket online, cheaper and faster. Stadium is gorgeous, the tour isn’t having any guide. It was under construction 🚧 when i was there but still beautiful. Would love to be there during a game. Price is high for the service, paid 35 eur zero guidance. For exmp. Alianz Arena was 15 eur including impressive guidance. Hala Madrid!

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home to Real Madrid, offers an immersive stadium tour that provides a behind-the-scenes look at this iconic football venue. The tour typically includes visits to the player's tunnel, dressing rooms, trophy room, and other exclusive areas. You may also have the chance to step onto the pitch and experience the stadium from the perspective of the players. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on Santiago Bernabéu Stadium tours, including availability, prices, and any potential changes to the tour experience, I recommend checking the official Real Madrid website or contacting the stadium directly. They often provide details about tour packages and the chance to explore one of the most renowned football stadiums in the world.

Right now the tour is not worth it due to remodeling. You can't access dressing rooms, conference room, the field, etc, it's really limited. I would advise you to wait until they finish.

Incredible stadium & home ground for Los Blancos! Pros: amazing atmosphere & impressive renovation. Cons: small seats, no drinks / only NA beers, and the food / bocadillo de jamón was really bad. Other than that had & great experience here. Hala Madrid!

I recently visited the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid and it was an impressive experience. Although parts of the stadium were under construction, the tour was still enjoyable, especially seeing the vast array of trophies. The museum visit was interesting, offering a peek inside the stadium's history. The tour felt a bit rushed and wasn't as detailed as others I've done, lacking access to areas like the press boxes or changing rooms. Despite this, the experience of being in such a hallowed soccer ground was unique. Our tour guide, Rocío, was very pleasant and informative, effortlessly switching between Spanish and English, which made the tour even more special. Although the tour was shorter because of the closed areas, it was definitely a memorable experience for any soccer fan, and I'd love to revisit once the construction is complete.

A legendary stadium that continues to get better with the new renovations they are (still) finishing. Super quick entry, but it’s a bummer that they have no team shops where you can get gear or scarves once you are inside the stadium. They also don’t serve alcohol, which was very surprising. Overall an incredible experience though and I would love to come back!

It was an extraordinary experience visiting the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, especially for futbol enthusiasts. We traveled from the United States to Spain specifically to tour the stadium and watch a Real Madrid game, and it exceeded our expectations. A highlight of the tour was the opportunity to touch and take a photograph with a Champions League trophy, which was particularly memorable for my husband.Attending a game at the Bernabeu Stadium was an unparalleled experience compared to games in the United States. Witnessing a match in person, rather than watching it on television, was truly remarkable.

Water Sports
Aquopolis Villanueva de la Cañada is a family-friendly water park offering extreme rides, wave machines, and attractions for younger kids. Visitors can enjoy free or paid parking options and bring their own food to the designated picnic area. The park has polite staff, clean facilities, and attentive lifeguards at every slide and area. However, some visitors find it crowded with long wait times for attractions.
The best idea would be to buy tickets online. It’s cheaper. The park is amazing for all ages we had a blast. A lot of food stalls in side which gives you options to eat. It was an amazing day out but the staff need a mood lift. It’s not cheap eating there €5.50 per slice of pizza. Bring your food and they have a picnic area. Enjoy!
Imran S — Google review
Well maintained water park with all the usual rides. However, don't go on a weekend as the queues are so long that you'll only be able to get on 5-6 rides in a span of 8 hours (I'm not exaggerating). And don't buy the express line tickets as it doesn't make any difference.
ADITYA G — Google review
We went to Aquopolis, being aware of some of the negative reviews out there. We figured, we are going on a Monday.. how bad can it be. Well. It was pretty bad. The park is small. There are not a ton of attractions and only a few that stand out from a regular slide in a swimming pool. Those, unfortunately, are always extremely busy. Expect waits of an hour to get on the popular rides. On the day itself the Speedy passes are crazy priced. I recommend if you go.. purchase the speedy pass ahead and consider if you want to pay the full price plus this addition. With this addition the park becomes a lot more enjoyable. Parts of the waiting are not protected from the sol, which is not great in 38 degrees. The prices for foods are crazy.. a tiny slice of pizza costs 7 EUR, not great considering they don't allow you to take any food inside except for water and Fruit. Is it all bad? No. There are plenty of nice fields, with areas of shades to sit and relax with your family when not standing in lines. The parks for younger kids are great, with some nice attractions (like the water dropping bucket). Staff is friendly. Some of the less spectacular slides have shorter lines and are still pretty good. We basically end up repeating some of the least popular slides and we still had a pretty good day overall. But we won't go again, it is not worth the money asked.
Jurian M — Google review
Amazing place for the whole family or just to have fun with friends! The lines in the summer are a little too long but the park is really big and has cool atractions for all ages

Very bad place to go in MadridIt's too crowded, we spent there 7 hours and most of the time we stoodin the line to go up to the slides. Finally we did only 4 slides all day!!Everything extra they will charge you, locker, seat, parking, fast pass. The feeling is that they are trying to get out of you as much money as they can
MrAssafito — Google review
We spent 5 hours there, but the long queues for every slide made it hard to get much out of the experience. If you want to enjoy more than just a couple of slides, the Speedy Pass is a must. On the bright side, the water was clean, and the food was ok.

Einfach furchtbar. Teuer und veraltet. Die Warteschlangen sind extrem lang. Haben in 5 Stunden 4 rutschen geschafft. Schließfächer sind ein Witz. Nicht zu empfehlen. Großen Bogen machen. Nie wieder(Translated by Google)Simply terrible. Expensive and outdated. The queues are extremely long. We managed 4 slides in 5 hours. Lockers are a joke. Not recommendable. Give it a wide berth. Never again
Lars H — Google review
We had fun, but there's just too many people inside the park for the space available. Ride waiting times ruin the whole experience, some rides you need to wait in line for almost 2 hours. Note that a speedy pass will not save you time on all the rides. Rides requiring a floating device have 2 queues, one for the float, another to ride. Speed pass will save you the wait for the 🛟 only. They should really sell less tickets per day. Lockers are also expensive, a basic locker should be included in the price (maybe with a safety deposit so people don't abuse) and charge for the big lockers for food/coolers.
Ricardo Q — Google review
We have the annual pass for all the madrid parks “Bono Platino” , so this park was also included. We enjoy a lot our day here, it was a really hot 🥵 day In madrid 39*CI hardly recomend yo arrive early,It’s allowed to bring coolers and there are special lockers for coolers. At meal time we get the adult menu with lasagna and meat balls, drink and ice cream included.

Have been to the waterpark on Tuesday. It has some so-so rides. Fun ones require lots of waiting due to the queues. There are 2-3 swimming pools for children and 2 big ones, beach styled for adults. The nice idea about adult swimming pool is that stuff put on waves for it sometimes. Just listen to the horn to grab an opportunity to jump over waves. Lots of sun loungers availabe for free. Now the dissapointing part:1.) Lockers doesnt seem to be very big, just enough to put one bag and some clothes. Very unconvenient. On top, you have to pay 8€ for a locker where 2€ is a deposit and will come back if key wont be lost during the getting out. Ticket by itself does not include the locker price.2.) Just an advice is to bring sun cream. During the day time sun is pretty hot and skin can get burnt easily. On the spot cheapest sun cream will be around 20€. Quite expensive. Bring one beforehand.3.) The food portions are quite small. Dont go for burgers - you will pay around 10€ for the same burger as in Mcdonalds. Try to bring some food with you to avoid paying much for food.4.) Even though we came on Tuesday, there were lots of people. Average waiting time in a queue for most rides was around 30-45 mins. Shorthest was 20 mins, longest - 1 hour. Go for a speedy pass if possible even though the ticket price seems to be already quite high (about the way to get discount, look down)5.) Restrooms just had toilets, sinks and showers. No hairdryer. Very unconvenient for girls. Moreover, quality of restrooms is very low.6.) VIP tickets will give you a place in small covered marquees to avoid direct sunlight. If you cant decide if you need VIP pass, i would suggest investing money into speedy pass. It would benefit much more.Overall, left quite dissapointed with a water park since was not capable of waiting any longer in the queues. Because of that, some slides left unvisited. Would suggest park administrators to improve some rides and make amount of tickets limited to avoid having dissapointed customers waiting for too long in the queues.Ps If you want to save some money, search the discount code. It is something to do with SOY card (big hint here ;) ). Then download the application "Parques Reunidos" and connect tickets with an app. 10€ saving for one ticket.

Complete rip-off. We spent most of our stay waiting in queues, and this on a Wednesday where it's supposed to be less crowded than on weekends. Alltogether in our 4 hours stay we managed to get to just one single slide. Go to the guarded parking, because in the free one you might get parked in and there's no way to get out anymore.

My son (5) and I had a great day here. We arrived around 12:15 and there was maybe 4 people ahead. Staff were very polite and prompt. The lockers to the right were all out so we had to use the ones to the left. They cost 8 euro and the annoying thing was your pin code is given to you on a piece of paper. Having a talkative 5 year old beside me it was a hard trying to memorize that code. All areas we went to were clean and all had a lifeguard/worker on every slide/area. We spent most of our time in the two smaller kids park and all staff were wonderful. We had pizza for lunch and again all staff were lovely to deal with considering we have a language barrier. Only complaint I have is with booking. I was unable to and still am unable to book any of the VIP packages online and I've called and emailed and have not received a response. Other than that everything was great.

At Aquopolis Villanueva de la Cañada, kids will definitely experience a wave of fun – in the truest sense of the word. 😅 But be careful, parents! Here your wallet will be empty faster than the children are in the water. And culinary? Well, let's say it reminded me of my failed experiments in the kitchen. Absolute rock bottom! Funny for the little ones, a real nightmare for the wallet and the taste buds.

The place is ok as a water park. However, it is too crowded which makes it difficult to access the attractions and barely opens from 12 to 8 PM. There is a bus from Madrid (Moncloa) that can be rather crowded as well since it is currently the only one that makes it to the park. Two concrete examples are the huge line to enter the park itself and I spent almost one hour for one of the slides (which I chose because it had a shorter line than others). There's also no signaling for how long the line is expected to take approximately. On the bright side, the installation itself is well prepared and has a nice variety of water related activities.

We went on a Thursday, the line to get in 20 min early was outside the gate to the parking lot. Parking is easy there is free parking in dirt lot and pay parking in paved lot, both close. We brought lunch with us in a cooler which we had to check in a locker and eat in a special picnic area ( I guess new rule this year). Although we saw many people eating snacks that they brought from home at their seats in the lawn. I think that they are trying to change rule but hard to get everyone to follow rules. The lines get super long at least a 30 min wait at about 30 min after opening. I would say average wait time for the day after 1230 was about 40 min and that was for a non tube rideMy kids waited in line for an hour and ten min for a tube ride at 6pm.They say they close at 1900 but they close a lot of the slide before that b/c the lines are so longSome things seem really old and wore outLots of areas with shadeYou can take your shoes with you on all rides but have to wear them on your hands to go down the slidesThe wave pool only runs once an house on the 30 when we were there. And doesn’t last that longWe went to order food at 1800 an hour before closing so kids would have something to eat on the way home and the pizza dominos and burgers were already closed?!?!?The VIP huts have a ton of shade and off to the side of the rainbow slide (my kids never sat other than for lunch) so we didn’t use or purchaseMy kids loved it even though they complained about the lines being so long they still had fun

We loved it. To go have fun with the family. Everything very clean and the Games are great. The only thing, I recommend buying the vip bracelets because there were people who queued for forty minutes to get on the games. Great discount for. Great discount for residents of Villanueva de la Cañada.
Jimena V — Google review
Nice water park but too crowded. When it is very hot it is not really worth it as you have to wait under the sun 30-40min in each attraction, at least on weekends.
Sonia R — Google review
Nice place and fun slides. The place is tidy and clean (including bathrooms and lockerooms) and the locker options are pretty easy to use. There are many places to eat and drink. There are many options for the slides and they are fun to ride. The staff is also nice and sometimes even play along with the guests at the end of the rides.

Excellent service for kids with disabilities. Great medical service for cuts and bruises. Day of the visit it wasn't too busy so in the day managed to enjoy every ride / attraction bar one.It would be 5 stars but for the fact that the food and drink is, whilst typical of all theme parks, very expensive for what it is... My boy had never seen a hamburger so small... He thought it was a meatball put there by mistake. Hihihi
Angus P — Google review
Really enjoyable spot. Lots of choices for different age groups. We were not allowed to bring in our picnic even though the website said we could. We could go out during the day to collect from the car & eat at seating just inside the entrance. But food left in the car on a hot day isn't good. We had to eat at one of the restaurants. Expensive for what you get. The kids enjoyed the day so that is what's most important.
Denise H — Google review
The rides were really fun, service was great, and staff were wonderful. Only downside wat that I spent 98% of the day in queues and 2% of the time actually enjoying the rides
Ciaran M — Google review
We had a great time but the food there is very expensive and the lines are long so it’s better to buy the speedy pass and bring your own food. But it was clean and fun and there were many lifeguards there watching everyone.

Alberto and his team make for a great experience. Highly professional team. I gad a blast flying with them yesterday and have observed the quality of their pilots and teachers. If you are looking for a great experience in a tandemflight with them, a paramotor flight or even learn to fly yourself... you are in solid hands.

I really recommend the experience experience! If you book it be sure to read very well the email with directions, the meeting place is a bit hidden. We mixed up the meeting place, but they helped us get to the correct place! All in all, if you wanna fly and have a diffrent experience, I recommend it.
Madalina F — Google review
5 stars for the flight but ...Yesterday I did a 15-minute paratrike flight and it was wonderful! It's a unique experience, Alberto is very skilled and can do whatever he wants with it, flying low just one metre above the fields and the river was exhilarating. And it's very comfortable! So, purely on the flight it's a 5 stars. What was less enjoyable was the trip to Pedro Bernardo (over 2 hours each way) when I had actually chosen this company to fly at Venturada (15 minutes away). Also I arrived at 7pm, half an hour before my schedule flight as requested, but I took off after 8pm, not ideal under a 35º sun with no shelter. So to sum up: the flight is great (do it!), the organisation can be better but these people are enthusiasts and their company deserves to do a decent business.

The Pantheon of the Duchess of Sevillano is a stunning Byzantine-style structure built in the 1880s to honor Maria Diega Desmaissieres' father and relatives. Nestled among lush trees, this 19th-century architectural gem showcases Italian art influences. Inside, visitors can admire a blend of paintings, sculptures, and tombs. The interior boasts an amazing Byzantine style that captivates visitors.
We visited on a weekday, so it was really quiet and there weren’t many people around. I really love it. It’s very well-kept, the surrounding area (garden) is very well-maintained. It’s free entry, you can access the path towards the pantheon and visit the surrounding grounds. You can also enter the pantheon, though you’d need to buy a ticket for that. Sadly they only accept cash. The grounds around the pantheon is beautiful; strolling around the garden and spending the day there with a book in one hand is a good idea whenever you’re around the area. Recommended to go on weekdays for sure, to really absorb the tranquil atmosphere.

(Translated by Google) The building is magnificent. Beautiful, balanced, spectacular…But there are several “buts” if you want to visit the interior. It is privately managed and the cost is €3 for, theoretically, maintenance but, I am afraid that this is not declared to the Treasury. The schedules are inconvenient on the weekend for a conventional tourist.Nowhere is it reported that groups have priority over private visitors. It happened to me that arriving before a group of 54 people, I had to stay at the door and wait half an hour in the middle of nowhere. It would be important and essential to make it known that there is "numerus clausus" and it would be good to be able to make reservations online. The person in charge of the entrance (a great professional) had to comply with imposed and strict rules that are not reasonable. That said, before you go (it is not in the historic center) make sure that you will not be left out.By the way, no photos inside by decision of the family who, apparently, are not aware of the power of attraction of social networks and that National Heritage, for example in the Escorial and other palaces that depend on the institution, since April Let photos be taken without commercial purposes (I recommend that the managers of the pantheon read the National Heritage explanations on the matter)In short, an unfortunate experience.(Original)El edificio es magnífico.

Good big and nice tree adventure park. Safe, well controlled, friendly staff. A great place to go with smaller and bigger kids and teenagers. Costs about 20 euros pero person and you can move freely around several circuits for three hours - which for most of us will be enough time to get really tired. One hint: if possible, avoid the weekends and you will almost completely avoid waiting times.

It's a cool space with seemingly lots of circuits BUT be warned that if you go with children under 1.25m, they'll be limited to only the single 'Kids' course. Ours was disappointed to find out he was stuck doing the same course over and over, and it's kind of expensive for just that. Tirolinas Go is much better for families with smaller kids.

I remember visiting this adventure park several times. The first time I was here as a guest at a friend's party.I actually live outside Spain and missed he feeling of being up in the trees. So, I brought a friend here last summer. I definitely recommend it if you love adventure and fun. Plus the gloves they sell are great for skateboarding and roller skating in the streets.Me and my friend plan to come back, and next time; We will do the hardest level after warming up!We didn't get a chance to because my friend had to do most of the obstacle courses first before we could try the hardest for safety (which I respect). By then we were tired, and couldn't pass the first obstacle well enough to do it.

You can find toilets and a snack offering pizzas, sandwiches, ice-cream, beers, coffee and soft drinks. Prices are decent and the place is clean and offers a shaded seating area. The only vegetarian option is the mixed cheese pizza though and there is nothing fresh or that would be considered a "healthy" alternative (like vegetables, fruits, cereals...)

The Aqueduct of Segovia is a 2-tiered, 167 arched monument built during the Roman period in Segovia, Castile and León, Spain. It is one of the most iconic symbols of Roman architecture in Spain and its impressive scale and grandeur can take visitors' breath away. The stones are held together by simple forces - without any mortar - and it was built to carry water from the Sierra to the city of Segovia.
This living proof of Roman ingenuity will take your breath away. Hard to believe it's stood for nearly two millennia. Stones meticulously placed without mortar held by gravity. Incredible. Make plans to grab lunch or a drink at one of the nearby cafes with this monument in full view.

Majestic. Absolute stunner. Einstein would be proud of this Roman engineering. Can’t believe this beauty was crafted thousands of years ago. Just love this city. Segovia castle that inspired Disney castles is only a couple footsteps away from here. 90 mins bus ride from Madrid was definitely worth a shot

The aqueducts are in excellent condition considering they're over 2000 years old. There are no lines as it's just a feature in the town. The town itself very walkable and has lots of shops and restaurants. While were not able to, you can visit the cathedral and the castle as well. We came on a train for day trip from Madrid. The train station is about 10-15 minutes (car/cab/bus) from the aqueduct. Once at the train station, the only options are the bus and taxis. Your most likely option will be the bus because there are too many people coming off the train and the taxis will be taken by the time you get to the front of the train station. Also, keep in mind that you cannot (not recommended) walk to the aqueduct from the train station as the station is too far outside the city. On the way back we took a cab. Also, if you intend to buy antique souvenirs (replica guns or swords) I would highly advise you to ship them from the store in Segovia. I bought a replica gun in town and when I got to the train station they confiscated it. Even though it was a 16th century, non-operating, replica in the package, they said, while I could drive back with, I cannot travel with it on the train. The shop owner told me that it would not be a problem traveling on the train it.

Beautiful town in spain with its iconic ancient Aqueduct. The old buildings in the town are also beautiful. You can climb up the stairs just behind the aqueduct to see the view of the town and aqueduct from above, which is breathtaking. We were there when it was quite cloudy, and still beautiful, but definitely will be much prettier with clear skies.

Holy moly this was absolutely amazing! We drove by it on our way in but that was nothing compared to walking up to it. My wife and I walked alongside it to the main entrance where it came from underground and were able to see the carved out top as it was waist high at that point. We also say a filtration station and then came back in the evening for pictures on the other side up high with great views of the city. Definitely recommend as it’s one of the most well preserved aqueducts I’ve ever seen.

The Aqueduct of Segovia is a testament to the ingenuity and grandeur of ancient Roman engineering. It stretches over 800 meters, composed of 166 arches, and has remained remarkably intact despite centuries of weathering and the passage of time. Its commanding presence and interplay of light and shadow create a mesmerizing visual spectacle. The Aqueduct of Segovia is one of the most significant and awe-inspiring historical sites in Spain. Its grandeur, architectural brilliance, and remarkable preservation make it an essential destination for anyone seeking to explore the wonders of the ancient world. Climbing to the top of the aqueduct offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the city of Segovia.

Truly fascinating it was still standing up today. 16km of marvelous architecture built centuries ago. It's now a tourist attraction here in Segovia, Spain. The actual city was kept in its original form and structure, with some retouches to restore the Grandeur it was. Don't leave Madrid without visiting this site in just more than an hour's drive from the city center.

No doubt, this is one of the top 3 sites not to miss in Segovia.Although I'd strongly recommend to visit the Alcazar and the Cathedral first and leaving the aqueduct for the end, before taking the bus (11,12) back to the train station. The old city is off course charming and to reach those landmarks you'll stroll in the narrow medieval streets and enjoy its special atmosphere. With Toledo, it is definitely the best day trip from Madrid!

I was absolutely mesmerized by the aqueducts of Segovia during my recent visit. The grandeur of this ancient engineering marvel is truly awe-inspiring. The precision with which the massive granite blocks fit together, creating a bridge that has stood the test of time for centuries, left me speechless. The history and significance of the aqueducts, dating back to Roman times, added an extra layer of fascination. The sight of water flowing through these arches, standing tall against the backdrop of the city, is a sight to behold. Whether you're a history buff or simply someone who appreciates architectural wonders, the aqueducts of Segovia are an absolute must-see.

This is a popular touristical spot for a great photograph. Still, it's a wonderful reminder of the engineering might of the Roman empire and I always come back for that memory. You Will no doubt enjoy walking around the neighborhood and up the hills to take in the sights and to take a bite at one of the many restaurants specializing in suckling, lamb and pig. Vegetarians can enjoy a custom salad with some of the best tomatoes around. Don't miss out on some of the best chocolate milk you can have anywhere.

So far, I've visited some 15 aqueducts all over Europe and Middle East.None matches this architectural masterpiece - imposing and miraculous site when you stand in front of it.Romans built it around 50 AD and it carried water from a mountain some 15 km away. It's height, length and preserved state are really amazing. By far the best Segovia attraction and totally free

Probably my most memorable sight of whole Spain! This roman aqueduct is simply a great pice of ancient engineering. Anyone who is remotely interested in history, architecture or engineering will be amazed by the Aqueduct of Segovia. I would definitely recommend visiting it and seeing it with your eyes!

This one of the most outstanding architectural sites. It amazes me that it is 2,000 years old. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the plaza and restrooms to make it a great outing. Don't forget to climb the stairs on the side of the plaza to get a perspective from the top of the aqueduct.

The Aqueduct of Segovia is a marvel of engineering and a testament to the ingenuity and skill of ancient Roman architects and builders. This massive structure, made entirely of stone, stretches nearly a kilometer in length and towers over the city of Segovia, Spain.Constructed in the 1st century AD, the aqueduct was designed to transport water from the nearby mountains to the city. Its sheer size and scale are impressive, and it's hard to believe that such an impressive structure could have been built without modern technology or machinery.Walking along the aqueduct is a truly awe-inspiring experience. The sheer size of the stones and the precision with which they were placed is simply breathtaking. The aqueduct is also beautifully illuminated at night, providing a stunning backdrop to the city.Visitors can also climb up to the top of the aqueduct for even more impressive views of Segovia and the surrounding landscape. From the top, you can see the entire city and appreciate the true scale of the aqueduct. The aqueduct is also surrounded by beautiful parks and gardens, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Spanish weather. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, making it a great spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat.

Back to Segovia for the 2nd time and we still loved how it’s like. Spending 2.5 hours here and felt like we did walk thorough. It was a great visit !!

We took a day trip to both Toledo and Segovia, and between the two of them, we much preferred Segovia. The aqueduct is massive, much bigger than I expected, and creates a striking image with the town scenery in the background. There are no entrance fees or lines necessary, and many restaurants are available around the aqueduct. Overall, the aqueduct is what makes Segovia unique (and my personal favorite day trip from Madrid). If you visit Segovia, it's impossible to miss--also because it's the first thing we saw when we drove up.

It was magnificent to see how the Romans built this over 2000 years ago and it is still intact and functional until today. Their work is absolutely amazing and built to perfection.

Awesome, just awesome! Its very presence is overwhelming. You see it as soon as you pull up to the bus and taxi stand. There are a bunch of birds that nest in the gaps of the stones so they fly around all day in the summer. This was so worth the visit!

In a trip around Spain that was full of wonderful discoveries, the Roman aqueduct of Segovia still managed to wow us. It really is a spectacular sight, one worth seeing from all angles. Ascend the staircase for great views backwards to it.

We walked from the train station to the aqueducts. I do not recommend as it took about 50 minutes and the walk wasn't very pleasant. The aqueducts however are very impressive!Avoid eating at the restaurants near the top of the aqueducts as they are very expensive and not that great. I wish we had chosen one of the smaller places that you pass as you walk up to the cathedral instead.
Dan A — Google review
Very cool Roman architecture. This aqueduct is huge it is mostly only looked at near the shopping area. You can also get a look from above by climbing the stairs. Recommend if you are in Segovia.

What an incredible experience! This is one you don't want to miss. The history is amazing. We did a tour via paraguas Rojas and our guide was excellent.

Can confirm aqueduct does exist. You can walk under it, touch it, look at it, ponder life next to it, dance next to it, eat next to it, climb steps to get a better view of it, and a few other allowable actions. If your fine with the above activities its worth a visit. Do be advised that the aqueduct does not sell ice cream, encourage you to chug your beer, lend a helping hand if you trip and fall, or produce fire in times of epic moments.
Jacob B — Google review
Amazing Roman architecture, very picturesque. I'm sure it's beautiful at night when lit up. There is a bus that will take you to the aqueduct from the train station for 2 euro. Pretty busy for a weekday. I'm sure the weekends are even more so.

The aqueduct was a great piece of engineering in its day. To see it still stand this long after is a testament to its construction. Unfortunately, it seems that this is the only thing that Segovia has to offer. Don't waste your time or money on the suckling pig offered by many of the local restaurants, while the meat is extremely soft and the skin crunchy, the flavor is bland to say the least.

The Roman Aqueduct of Segovia stands as a remarkable testament to ancient engineering prowess. Its towering arches, meticulously crafted without mortar, evoke a sense of awe and admiration. As one marvels at its grandeur, it's impossible not to feel transported back in time, imagining the bustling life that once surrounded this architectural marvel. A stroll alongside its impressive structure offers a glimpse into the ingenuity of ancient civilizations and provides a profound connection to history. For anyone visiting Segovia, exploring this iconic aqueduct is an absolute must, offering an unforgettable experience that resonates long after the visit.

Very well preserved considering that the Aqueduct was built 2000 years ago. Very pleasant walk along the structural on cobblestone streets. And, a walk up the stairs to the wall of the city presents great views. Look carefully at the doors to all the buildings. So many are original carved wood doors.Lovely open Plaza with restaurants- almost all with outdoor seating.

An Amazing experience to see a historical place. Friends recommended to visit Segovia and we too a bus from Madrid. The place is crowded most of the time. Good places to eat around and nice spots to take pictures. There are also many other places around walking distance. A must visit.

Built by the Romans 2000 years ago and there is not a drop of cement in sight yet there it is still standing proud. A magnificent piece of engineering to carry water. If you are in Madrid it’s well worth a visit to have a look at this marvel.

It is free to walk around the town of Segovia. The Aqueduct goes right through town. A great place to see it is near the Burger King, in town. It seems somewhat wheelchair friendly, but difficult. It is outdoors in a public area, cobble streets closed to vehicles in places. A neat experience to see the Aqueduct, which was built around the first century, without mortar.

The Plaza Mayor is a historic landmark in Segovia, featuring the cathedral and Juan Bravo theater. The square is popular for bars, cafes, and restaurants, and every Thursday there is a fair in the square.
Cathedral was closed when we visited, around 6 pm. Many restaurants around that place unfortunately Spanish habits of having dinner after 9 pm did not allow us to eat there as we were tired and dine usually around 7 pm

I've been several times to Segovia, this last week I was driving to Madrid from Leon and forgot to buy the typical Leon style chorizo picante and cecina, but following my nose I found a place that had delicious torreznos (large fried pork belly) right in front of the cathedral and a couple meters further a place to buy chorizo Leones and cecina!I'll expand this review later on, but for now I'm glad to say I was able to enjoy a refreshing half an hour break from driving to Madrid, with the magnificent view of the cathedrall against a wonderful cloudy sky whilst savoring freshly made torreznos and a delicious cold beer!

Plaza Mayor is the vibrant old center of Segovia. There are plenty of things to see and do, starting with the Cathedral, extending to Teatro Juan Bravo, and a few restaurants, pastry shops and cafe terraces. Plaza Mayor is also the location of a weekly farmer's market that temporarily transforms the neighborhood into an old-fashioned square. Local produce, fruits, flowers and local specialties are abundant on market day.

A beautiful place to visit day or night. Many restaurants to sit and enjoy the view of the Cathedral(which offers guided tours). Some places can be slightly pricey due to the location. But I would definitely recommend even just going for some pictures. Take note that there is a 6 person per table restriction right now due to COVID-19.

Like so many Spanish city main squares vibrant with community activity. This one comes with the added feature oof the catederal that occupies one side of the square. Ringed by restaurants virtually dominated. by catering to tourists, don't head here if you need to do any serious food shopping. But for enjoyment this is the place to be in Segovia.

The main or best known public square in Segovia is much like the Plaza Mayor of major cities in Spain. Arranged around the square are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The Cathedral of Segovia is also here and the only slightly unusual thing about this plaza is that it has an old style bandstand.Worth a stop for food.

The Segovia Cathedral is a late-Gothic cathedral that was built in the 1500s. It is lined with 1300s stained glass and houses a museum of art. The cathedral is massive, and its stained glass windows are some of Europes newest original Gothic buildings.
Absolutely amazing cathedral. I've seen a lot of them and this was impressive. One of the largest in Spain. All of the side rooms with the ornate statutes and places to pray, the center areas where they keep the valuables and lead worship, and the old original section that did not get destroyed hundreds of years ago.. all is fantastic. The organs were really impressive.

It was magical being up the bell tower for the sunset, you’ll need to buy additional tickets. The cathedral interior itself is impressive. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Segovia. Plenty of eateries close by to break up your visit, if you have tickets for an evening tour.

It is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and Saint Fructus. The main part of the building was built between 1525 and 1577, but the remaining parts were built until 1768. It is one of the last Gothic cathedrals built in Europe, including Spain. Some characteristics of the Renaissance style are also visible. It is magnificent, beautiful, and elegant. For that reason, it is also called the Lady of the Cathedral. In particular, the high dome above the crossing and the colorful pillar decorations throughout the building are attractive. You can also tour the space for tapestries and worship decorations, as well as the painting room.

The Cathedral of Segovia is a breathtaking embodiment of Gothic architecture, standing as an awe-inspiring tribute to spiritual devotion and artistic grandeur. As you step inside, you're instantly enveloped in an atmosphere of serene reverence, the intricate stone carvings and expansive stained glass windows lending an almost ethereal quality to the air. It's a place that seems to capture the essence of centuries of faith and craftsmanship, extending a palpable connection to generations past. But what made our visit truly unforgettable was receiving a blessing from the resident priest. It was an intimate and heartfelt moment that added a personal touch to the majesty surrounding us. In that instant, the immense edifice felt like a close-knit community, making us feel connected not just to a magnificent structure, but also to a living tradition of faith. The Cathedral of Segovia, with its towering spires and intricate details, was not just a place to admire from a distance, but a sacred space that welcomed us into its long-standing history of spirituality.

Usually I’m very reluctant against paying access to see a religious monument, but here I took my chance, and it didn’t disappoint. Only once you are inside you will find out how gigantic this building really is. With different separate areas to discover and even a complete paintings exposition in the basement, or a nice patio you can’t see from the outside. Would definitely recommend

The Cathedral is more impressive from the outside than inside, particularly with it's close proximity to the Plaza Mayor. When the lights come on at night, you can get some great photos from the Plaza.Having said that, the Spanish do their cathedrals really well. The inside was not as well decorated as many others, but I still recommend a visit.

Amazing Cathedral. There is an admission fee, you pay at the booth before you enter the cathedral. Advanced tickets are not necessary. You can also pay to go up the top of the belltower for beautiful views of Segovia. Be warned, the stairwell up to the top is long, dark, with many, many stairs. They break it out with small breaks on two floors. They show a video of the history of the cathedral on the first break. The second break is a tour of the bell tower quarters. The views from the top are beautiful and fully worth the effort to make it to the top.

The Cathedral de Segovia is an absolute masterpiece that took my breath away. Its towering spires, intricate façade, and stunning interior left me in awe. Stepping inside, I was greeted by a sense of serenity and the sheer magnitude of its architectural details. The intricate stained glass windows cast a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors across the walls, creating a surreal atmosphere. The combination of Gothic and Renaissance styles seamlessly integrated in its design reflects the rich history and cultural evolution of the region. Climbing to the top of the tower provided a panoramic view of the city that was absolutely worth the effort. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a place of tranquility, the Cathedral de Segovia is an experience that will leave an indelible mark on your soul.

The Cathedral is an impressive building on itself, admire history and art of Castilla and beyond within it's walls. The 2 baroque organs in the Choir are 2 of the most beautiful I've seen. Go up the 190 steps (in 3 stages) of the tower to know secrets and visit the bell-ringer"s home and admire the views towering Segovia and beyond. You're lucky if you get Santi as your guide!

The Alcazar of Segovia is a well-preserved, ornate medieval castle that overlooks the old city of Segovia. It has served as the official residence for the family of Emperor and is now home to an armoury museum.
This Castle is IMPRESSIVE! Totally worth the visit 💯. The views from the top are amazing specially the natural scenery around it. This medieval castle was the real inspiration for Disney World Castle, if you notice. All the rooms inside are beautifully layout and decorated, the armor and weapons replicas and objects and things from that time are so real that you can easily imagine life in these times.Pay attention to all the details and work on the walls and ceilings on each room, really gorgeous! And the town of Segovia is one of my favorites, such a cute and vibrant town, love it 💗💟💗

Most people walk around inside the town, but you should get out of the stone wall and enjoy the view from outside. It would not disappoint your kids to bring them to the castle which is distinctive by virtue of its shape - like the bow of a ship. Has served as a royal palace for 22 monarchs, it has a rich history and beautiful art and architecture.

What a location for a castle, absolutely amazing. The inside was the most impressive part. Magnificent ornaments and details but also the whole layout seemed very homey. About the muzeum, there is for sure a lot to see. Is the tower worth the extra money and time? I don’t think so

One of the most if not the most beautiful castle listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site just 75 mins away drive from Madrid! A must see when in Segovia! Fun Fact: Apparently Walt Disney’s Cinderella’s Castle was inspired by this particular castle.

Very impressive! Well maintained, you can't find any better than this in every aspect - location, imposing structure, romantic aura, great collection of ancient armoury... Having served as a royal palace, prison, military school and a number of other functions, It dates back from the XII century and is the inspiration to many other castles of more recente times. This is the real one!

If you like castles this one is great! Get the audio guide and learn something it's only a few Euro. Be sure to not only go through the castle but around it as much as you can for great views and pictures. I also did the tower for a few extra Euro, worth it as long as you can handle the stair and are not afraid of hieghts. Great views from the top. Walk through the nearby part of the town which is also heavily walled. The whole area puts you right into the medieval ages.

Definitely worth visiting is you're nearby. It is afterall another castle that inspired the Disney one! The outside is more spectacular than the inside but the view from top of the tower is worth doing.

Pretty nice castle to visit. Surrounded by a valley with a nice view. As of Nov 2022, it was 6 euros to go inside and an extra 3 euros totaling 9 to climb tower, which I would say is worth it. There is a bathroom / toilet immediately after entering in the cellar. No food or drinks sold inside. You buy tickets in the building next door on the left.Ground floor takes about 15 -45 to explore , depending on how fast you go. The castle isn't that big, only about 9 rooms or so to visit, plus a gift shop. The tower you have to pay for separately, and you're only allowed up in timed intervals as part of a group. (We learned this the hard way after missing a schedule departure, because our primary school Spanish was not up to par and the gift shop lady did not speak good English). They say it is 152 steps, and I'd approximate it is about 4-6 stories worth of staircases. IMO not an issue at all for any healthy kid or adult, but otherwise will pose an issue. The staircase is very narrow. View is pretty good, and I think if you're already here you might as well pay the extra few euros to check it out.At a brisk pace through everything you could probably see it all in 1 hour (depends on the timing of the tower tour, it is set intervals at 00:15 and 00:45 as far as I can tell). A more moderate relaxed pace will probably land you at around 1-1.5 hours, maybe 2 hours if you take your time (as we did).Glad we did it though, was a decent castle as far as European castles go.

Worth the trek to visit this beautiful castle. Tips buy the tower pass. You get great views of Segovia. But the best view of the cathedral is from the terrace behind the Alcazar's restaurant. It is said the towers were the inspiration for one of the Disney castles.

This is a great place to go see. The aqueduct, the castle, and the sites fit right into our plans to see multiple cities in the Madrid area. We did a two city tour in one day and it was well worth the time.

Worthwhile trip with a very good display of ancient weapons through to the late 1700's. The tapestries are also very good. The structure itself looks more impressive from the outside and internally and is a lot smaller than a lot of other Alcazar that we have seen in Spain. Hence the 4 rating. Don't let that detract you from visiting as it still has a lot of merit.

Beautiful and well kept grounds. Some absolutely gorgeous rooms with stained glass. The architecture is amazing! Don't forget to look up as some of the ceilings are spectacular. Don't spend time visiting the cellars as it doesn't live up to the beauty of the place.

Quite a beautiful castle. The walk is furthest from town so I would suggest visiting it first thing. We prebought tickets but it wasn't necessary during low season. The castle has nice details and rooms to look. The countryside view is wonderful and the towers and areas to explore are lovely.

Having visited over 100 Castles, Chateaus and fortresses all over Europe this one is certainly in Europe's top 5 imo. It's not robust like English castles, nor elegant like French Chateaus along Loire, but instead, really fairy tale looking with a dramatic appearance. On its western side it stands atop a steep cliff rising above Eresma river, while the eastern side is open to Segovia old town. It reminds on Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria on a smaller scale. The original was built in 12-13 cent, however remodeled many times over 16-19c.I suggest buying tickets online in advance. At the basement level you could see the Roman foundations of their fortress. Rooms around the Castle are pretty much similar to such Palaces, even humble, specially the Throne room consisting of modest two chairs. Count on around up to two hours for a visit

This is a must do. The audio guide works through your phone and is worth it but there are some descriptions in English. The building is beautifully presented one of the best we have been to. The Tower was booked so we couldn’t do that so you might want to book in advance but the rest of the tour as well worth it

If you are visiting or planing to visit Segovia this amazing castle has to be in your checklist ✅Just take a look of the beautiful pictures and remarcable architecture. There is a lot of history and impressive sights of the city of Segovia from its balconies and terraces 😍

You probably need about 15-20 minutes to finish a tour inside the castle. I would not say this is the most beautiful castle, but it is still unique in its own way and is well maintained throughout the years. Some say that even the castle in Snow White was made mirroring this castle.P.s. Toilets are found at the entrance of the castle. Free of charge.

A nice twelve century building. You can choose to walk up the hill or take a tourist bus. The way up the hill is amazing, the views are incredible and is worth it.You can take a lot of photos outside the castle and you can stroll along the small park. Many souvenir shops nearby, but many of them are expensive. I recommend the one just right outside the castle, it is cheaper and has more souvenirs like magnets, postcards, clothes and more.

Must visit while in the area, Impressive medieval castle on a hill built on top of Roman remains, with views of the surrounding fields and the city. Park downtown and walk through the old city until you find it. Go up to the tower for even better views.

Alcazar is a must visit for anyone touring the side trips around Madrid. Such a beautiful and magical castles full of fanciful spires and exhibits of knights in shining armor. Don’t forget to walk down the hill to see it from a distance too! Such a beautiful and memorable castle!

Small castle within a small village in the countryside of Madrid Spain. Decent architecture. Would suggest to visit this place with a tour guide. Also, there's a small hose which provides the sweetest tasting potable clean water just in front of the castle which our tour guide suggested we drink and it truly was very refreshing.

Impressive castle in great hilltop setting. Relatively small but interesting display of amour and military equipment inside. Great views from the tower across the countryside and of Sergovia

Beautiful castle to explore. Nice views around. We went there with organised excursion, so was not queuing to buy tickets. There was no queue on the entrance as well. Couple of hours will be enough to explore it without rush

Enjoyed the experience with my family of preteen to teens. The rooms were interesting and the views pretty. There are rooms with weapons and armor. Boys found that cool. Climbed to the top. Narrow stairs but nice view from top.

Beautiful castle. Kinda small but definitely should get the tickets to the Tower as that gives you the best views. No need to buy tickets beforehand, we came and there was slots.

5/5. What a wonderful place. Segovia itself is a wonderful town in about 1000 ~ 1.300 meters height and its alcazar is the cherry on the cake.Recommended to book upfront otherwise you might not get on top of the tower. you can easily spent about 1.5~2 hours here.

This fortress is a must see in Segovia.Definitely worths to go through every room available for the visit, discover Christian and Muslim blend in architecture and designs. The visit of the tour started at 13:00 and it was guided by staff. The views from the rooftop are breathtaking. The site offers audioguide through an app, on visitors' phone. It's very convenient, no need to carry an additional device.Ticket price with audioguide and tower visit was 13,50 EUR.

Beautiful place! Best to get the audio guide as it will explain the history about the place without being boring. Best views from the tower (you need to book it with the ticket purchase ) but bare in mind the way up might be challenging as it’s steep and staircase is spiral 🌀

Had a day trip to Segovia from Madrid and the weather was beautiful and sunny. We walked to this spot from the bus stop not far from it with no fee to get into the front area, where the views were amazing. On one side you can see the small towns and hills and the other you can see the forest below, the cathedral in the background snow capped mountains in the distance. There is also a water fountain where you can drink from or refill a bottle with with seating around to sit and enjoy the scenery. Not sure about going into the building itself or if you even can as we didn't attempt it.

It has a massively big outside swimming pool to enjoy and play around, suitable both for kids and for grown ups. The grass area around it is also enormous! But it isn't a quiet place as there is loads of people with their icebox and their music or even their tent (and a kitchen I would say!).

It's the second time we've visited this small town, Valverde de los Arroyos, one of these towns they call Black Arquitecture of Guadalajara. Beautiful and touristy. You have restaurants there. But we were more of hiking to the falls, Chorrera de Despeñalagua. The hike was 40 - 45 mins. and easy. Autumn is not the best season to see the falls. It has less water and wasn't at its best. The views and landscapes all the way were spectacular. Lovely autumn colors in the mountains.

Plaza Mayor in Pedraza is a stunning square with a rich history. The columns were taken from castle ruins in the 19th century, and the Caseron de los Miranda, built in 1673, now serves as a tavern with an impressive balcony and stone gargoyles. Nearby, you can visit La Farmacia, a famous pharmacy dating back to the 16th century. This medieval town has gained recent fame for being featured in the filming of "30 Coins.

Emphasize the latter because surely things would change a lot on weekends based on what the hostellers we met with told us. One weeknight I can attest that it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. All peace, silence, tranquility, in short, the town for us. During the day, more businesses are opening and there is more movement. Apart from the square, there are many places of interest but just getting lost in its streets is priceless.(Original)Tomo como referencia la plaza mayor para puntuar la villa de Pedraza en general.

Located in a 13th century building that was rebuilt in the 16th century. The visit is guided and there are several floors, the highest is where the jailers rested and as you go down we get to know the different cells where the prisoners were placed depending on the crime. In one of them, at bedtime, they stretched them out on a wooden platform and put wooden stocks on their feet as well as shackles on their necks. It also had 2 wooden cells with hardly any light measuring 3x3 meters for minor crimes where up to 15 people could live together for several weeks of punishment. And finally we visited a kind of zulo about 4 meters deep where they threw criminals or blood crimes, of course breaking a bone in the fall and that ensured that they could not escape and if that was not enough all the excrement and minor water from the prisoners on the upper floors was channeled and deposited in the basement area, so that without water or food, most of them died within a few days. It's very crude but that's really how they treated prisoners in those years..(Original)Fuimos un día de diario, la entrada es de 4€ para todos los públicos.

The jailer lived in it and there were several adjoining rooms where the prisoners lived badly. For common criminals, usually thieves, there were two cells made of 3x3 meter wood through which hardly any light entered and in which up to fifteen people could be imprisoned for several days. For blood crimes, a more cruel fate was reserved, since the prisoners were thrown individually into a lower room, which frequently caused injuries or breaks in the legs and ankles, thus reducing the possibility of escape to almost zero. The prisoner died after a few days, and since the jailer had to call the executioner of Segovia and pay him to take the body, the next prisoner who was thrown into said room was given a basket and he himself was in charge of picking it up and giving it to him. to the jailer, who sold it as fertilizer for the land. The other prisoners were thrown into another room through a trap door, which also caused broken limbs. Apart from the physical punishment that involved a fall from several meters, the criminals suffered the torment of living in a room specially designed so that the excrements of the prisoners from the upper floors were evacuated in it. All this produced a slow agony in the prisoner until he died from injuries or infections. There was another room for pre-trial prisoners, in which they were released during the day but at nightfall and for the safety of the jailer, who lived there in prison, they were thrown on a wooden board with their feet attached to a stock and their heads shackled to the wall or placed them standing on the wall and shackled their heads, depending on the cruelty of the jailer, at the height of the prisoner or at a higher height for the prisoner to spend the night tiptoe.

The Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park is an incredible landscape of rocky cliffs and river-carved canyons. The park is home to a variety of flowers and plants for biology enthusiasts, as well as great views and loads of vultures. In the fall, the park is more pleasant to visit as temperatures are cooler.
Spectacular canyons with breathtaking views of the meandring river Durantón from up top. Arrive at Burgomillodo and leave the car in the parking of the restaurant by the outfall of the reservoir. Cross the bridge towards the Factory and follow the earthed path upwards that will lead you to the beginning of the trek. Following the trek you'll end up on the plateau from where you can enjoy some amazing sights. You can keep following the serpentine route of the canyon and reach a point from where Ermita de San Frutos is viewed. The trek can be continued onwards and you'll see some ruins along the way which I guess are the remains of cattle shelters made by the locals. The difficulty level of the trek is low.

Externally a very impressive, imposing building set high up above the town.Sadly the inside has been very sanitised in comparison with all the other Spanish castles we have visited.Walking around it you don't really get any sense of history because internally so much of it is very modern. Also, we paid for a tour which we knew would be in Spanish, but were assured that there would be a summary in English at each point - this didn't happen, and the guide told us she only speaks a little English.Obviously we don't go about with the expectation that English will be either spoken or understood, but it was disappointing to have paid for a tour that we couldn't understand a word of.

This castle was a bit ordinary by comparison to others in Spain. A steep drive up the hill puts you at the base of the castle wall. It is a very long castle with two halves divided by a central tower. There are some steep steps to navigate but overall not to bad. Only Spanish tours are offered or the self guided audio. Your ticket also gives you entry to a wine museum which was underwhelming. Parking was easy.

Regrettable tour, expensive, short and poorly explained. The Diputación Provincial of Valladolid is more concerned about promoting wines than explaining the incredible history that, without a doubt, is collected within the walls of the Castle of Peñafiel.

Penafiel Castle in Valladolid is a hidden gem that took me by surprise with its allure and historical significance. Nestled in the heart of the Spanish countryside, this medieval marvel exudes an undeniable charm that transports visitors to a bygone era.As I approached the castle, its striking silhouette against the sky left me in awe. The well-preserved walls and turrets instantly conveyed a sense of history, promising a captivating journey through the ages. Once inside, I was enamored by the intricate architectural details and the stories they seemed to whisper.Beyond its historical significance, Penafiel Castle's location is a true delight. The panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from atop the towers are simply breathtaking. I could have spent hours gazing out over the picturesque landscape, feeling a sense of serenity and wonder. The view of the castle from the Corrida arena (Plaza del Coso) of Penafiel is very spectacular as well, adding another layer of beauty to the already enchanting experience. My visit to Penafiel Castle was a memorable journey into the past, filled with wonder and fascination. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a unique escape, this Valladolid gem promises an unforgettable experience that leaves you with cherished memories of a timeless adventure.

On one hand they offered us a guided tour in English but the person did only in Spanish when he realized we translated ourselves. Even if that could be a negative point, the guide was attentive and approach to us later to apologize and ask for any questions. On the other the castle has charming but the wine museum fills a gap that gives me a confronted sensation between the missing conceptual view and the recreational offer. All together, the price of the ticket is good, be ready to climb stairs and try to be early to get the best spots to park.

It is not surprising that a museum dedicated to the production and treatment of wine is located in the heart of one of the most important wine-growing areas in Spain, the Ribera del Duero. The museum is located in the castle's old parade ground, which has been reused and adapted for this purpose. It is a large, very interesting interactive museum that promotes wine tourism with a global vision of wine production through nine sections with information panels, videos, maps and even a counter where you can appreciate the different aromas of the wines. A journey that tells the story of human progress in winemaking, improving and modernizing the different techniques over the centuries. The route taken through the different panels explains, in a didactic way, from the care and treatment of the vines to the various ways of knowing and tasting the wines, including the winemaking processes.Admission to the museum is part of a joint visit to the castle. The visit to the castle is guided with a price of 6.60 euros/pax, including a free visit to the museum. Bodegas Protos is a fantastic winery that offers an amazing tour experience. Visitors are impressed by the knowledgeable and friendly guides who provide insights into the wine-making process and the history of the bodega. The effort and history behind Protos wines are well presented, making it a must-see for wine enthusiasts. The tour provides a great understanding of Ribera del Duero wines, with excellent tasting experiences at the end.
We took a tour that lasted about an hour and 15 minutes, followed by a wine tasting. The tour guides where extremely knowledgeable and the ambience was phenomenal. Definitely worth a stop.

What a fantastic Bodega, one of the best I’ve ever visited. Thanks so much Irene for your knowledge about the place, the wine and the history of this amazing Bodega. Irene was wonderful, nice and with a fantastic sense of humour. Loved this place. I booked this for my partner’s birthday and he loved it.

Very interesting tour and excellent wines to taste at the end. I felt the marketing videos at the beginning were a bit too much, but overall very good.

Nothing distinctive about the tour, the two wines to taste at the end of the tour or the two other wines I bought to take with me. Not a complete disappointment though, they have a very distinctive chocolate bar - recommend the chocolate.
Rick K — Google review
Fine winery with a lot of history in their wheels. We booked the tour + wine tasting at the end. I would recommend the cellar to update the initial phase with all the audiovisual contents, they look old fashioned and kind of boring. The guides were OK, the tasting was OK, nothing out of the blue for such an iconic cellar. They should probably revamp and rethink the process, nothing to complain, but living in 2023 it's good to be updated with the time being.

Bodegas protons good history behind and very well presented, they do millions of litres wine there … you can understand where wines makers will bring the wines in the future

Please forget about all other winery tastings. If there is only one visit to make to Ribera del Duero this is this place. Combined with a stay and meal at the posada, our dreams were fulfilled. Great value for the money and authentic hospitality. Back to the tasting: Camino (our wine guide) went out of her way to show us the hidden secrets and treasures of the winery. Exclusive wines from amfora but also wines tailored to our taste-spend ratio. Dosed with humour and history it is a visit that we will remember (until we return).

(Translated by Google) I always had the dream of visiting and getting to know this beautiful winery whose wines I already knew. The place is beautiful, the facilities are very well organized and they serve very well the external public that will be visiting. We were there on a Saturday, without an appointment (for guided tours and tastings we recommend booking in advance) and we were very well received by Camino, very dear, kind, attentive and with dedicated and special knowledge about the wines, about the region and the history. from the warehouseThe wines are exceptional, from the most basic to the most elaborate. We tasted some of them, including the white (an Albariño/verdejo cut), Adaro and Finca La Mina.In the end, we bought all of them because we liked them so much. The experience was really very positive and I recommend visiting this winery whenever possible.(Original)Siempre tuve el sueño de visitar y conocer esta preciosa bodega cuyo ya conocía a sus vinos. During the visit there were only 6 of us and it seemed to be among friends. At the end of the visit we had a guided tasting of 3 wines in a dedicated room sitting around a table and overlooking the vineyards of the company. Mariangeles was able to excite me in the tasting journey. Excellent wines and a company with attention to every detail. Amazing welcome. Staying in their Posada we were able to enjoy a 50% discount on the price of the visit. Too bad they don't ship to Italy.(Original)Bellissima esperienza in un posto incantevole. Vini ottimi e azienda curata in ogni dettaglio. Accoglienza strepitosa.

We visited the wineyard couple of weeks ago and got truly a five star attention from Camino. She showed us the actual wineyard, the process of making wine, the cellar and we finished with amazing wine tasting with the best view you can get. The wine is excellent, and as a bonus you get an explanation about how to taste the wine as a pro :-) Camino is a great professional, with passion for her work. And she had a very sweet personal touch with us, as we commented we were having difficulties booking a visit to a beer craft factory and she actually managed to reach them and book us in :-) We will be back for sure, maybe for wine picking next time :-)

(Translated by Google) Well yes, I was sure that this was going to be a great visit and it has certainly met all my expectations because PradoRey always offers great visits to its facilities, both in the vineyard (which this time could not be due to the bad weather), as in the winery and in the subsequent tasting. It is true that the company of the rest of the visitors also accompanied us a lot, as well as our guide Mª ANGELES (whom I congratulate from here), who made the walk much more pleasant for us with a nice “Game” to make us pay attention throughout the visit, but above all because we have learned many things from this great winery, its people, its magnificent facilities and the great wines, some very different, that are made here (about 14 references if my notes serve me correctly). The neatness of its Barrel Room and the impressive Niche Room draw a lot of attention (reminiscent of the Kings Room of the Royal Site of El Escorial) and hence its name and the fact that it is where the best wines and the different vintages that have been stored rest. produced by this winery since those first ones in 1996. Many things here attract attention (for the better), but I want to highlight 2 that have personally surprised me and are related to two of their most exclusive wines and that unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to be able to never try. One raised in Tinajas de Barro called EL BUEN ALFARERO and another even more exclusive, EL RETABLO, which even the Winery calls “El Inaccesible” from which 484 bottles a year are released only for 150 enthusiastic customers, (it comes in a box of 3 bottles ) that they have already reserved it well in advance and it is made with “a unique and artisanal method of 'Criaderas y Soleras' that makes it irreproducible, like time and the land.” This name of El Retablo has a lot to do with the beautiful Altarpiece of San Andrés that the Chapel next to La Posada has, located very close to the Winery and also owned by the family. The tour ends in the Tasting Room on the upper floor where we were able to learn more about the wines by tasting 3 good wines from the winery. An elegant white wine called PRADOREY BLANCO made with Verdejo, Albarín and Viognier, and two red wines made with Tempranillo: the ADARO, a tribute to the founder of the winery (Don. Javier Cremades de Adaro) and a good Reserva called PRADOREY FINCA LA MINA, a true pleasure for the palate. As I say, a visit to this winery is full of surprises and is certainly pleasant and totally recommended.

We have had a little bit of everything, first some history, then we have gone to the vineyards and finally we have visited each of the rooms or parts that make up the winery. It has been very interesting (especially considering that I don't really like wine) but I finally decided to go for it and I would repeat it without a doubt. Even in the wine tasting (spectacular by the way) I have gotten to try the varieties they propose, and it was a success.I leave delighted and wanting more, I definitely recommend it.(Original)Experiencia magnífica. Did you know there’s an amazing restaurant in here? The castellano menu is my favorite. But we have tried the other one too during our last visit! Besides being one of the best wine manufacturers in the region (and yet not as popular as other bigger more comercial brands) this winery is a must stop if you are interested in getting to know more and learn about Ribera Del Duero wine region. And then there’s the restaurant…I mean, obviously anything you eat that’s accompanied by their excellent wine is going to taste twice as good. But the real thing is that the quality of the food, the selection of their raw materials, their service and knowledgeable staff makes this restaurant a top option when you are in the area.Their menus come with a generous amount of dishes for the value you pay and the quality you get. And there’s always some good discounts at their wine store downstairs after a good meal.

Fantastic bodega. The architecture was amazing. The wine was excellent and the food in the restaurant first class. Impressive winery in a stunning building. Portia offers a variety of experiences, but we just stopped by to taste at the bar downstairs. With tasting serves starting at around 0,60€, it's easy to have a sample of their full repertoire. I'd recommend the reasonably-priced Prima wine - a limited production wine which spurred the owners on to make Portia what it is today. Great staff, nice facilities (including a museum), and all at a stone's throw from Madrid on the A1 motorway.

A modern, elegant and masterly designed (by no other than Norman Foster) winery with quite good wine, food and staff. From the moment one arrives, parks the car (in the shade), walks to the entrance of this magnificent building, one feels each corner has an ultimate purpose. Produce and show wine.I would recommend to try (possibly buy) the prima and summa wines. Depends on how much you want to spend. On the food menu, the carrillera was excellent.

They charge you for wine tasting without telling you in advance. After you tried the wine, they then tell you that if you don’t buy any wine, you need to pay for the wine you tasted. Ridiculous. Non welcoming attitude throughout. Wine quality is mediocre for the price.

A long way from anywhere, this great Benedictine pile towers over the village around it. The Gregorian chant is past its Grammy-winning glory days, but evening Vespers still attracts a good crowd in summertime. A highlight of the cloister visit is the renaissance-era pharmacy, complete with a huge copper still, stone mortar and pestle, and dozens of jars, vials, and pots for herbs and potions...straight out of Harry Potter!

It is worth visiting, both for the beauty and curiosity of the buildings, and for all the objects that make up it. Beautiful!!

¡Maravilloso! We loved this visit. We loveed it here! Such a great feat of outsider art and our children 6 and 9 were so enchanted! The new children’s area is brilliant and the artist was still there working away and said hello.Completely unpolished and sincere we had the best time. Definitely worth a stop.(And very cheap! Only €6 per adult and €2 per child.

Amazing place that will take you back in time and show you how was life in those villages around the area 60 to 80 years ago. Also the outstanding work of a single man building such a great piece of history

Unsure about the safety, and accessibility of the place... but it is truly amazing.

I loved it, typical Castilian squares from different centuries with infinite details such as bars, schools, notary of the time, etc. With so many details that if you want to see it well you have to spend a couple of hours. The children's area is incredible, as there are many sculptures of characters, a church, etc.It is worth seeing, everything has nothing to waste, it is impressive. What makes me most sad or angry is that since it is private it is not publicized as it deserves by the institutions because it is worth seeing. We loved it and I think anyone who goes to see it will not be disappointed.

This is a sight to see! The owner has single handedly recreated an old Spanish village from the early 20th century. It's absolutely huge. Highly recommend for a quick visit of about 2-3 hours on combination with local sites such as Lerma or Covarrubias....

😉(Translated by Google)Highly recommended visit!! We had wanted to go for quite some time, and we finally decided. If you go with children, they will have a great time, especially in the final area, the most children's area with characters of all kinds. We met with the "father" of all this work, we chatted for a while and left him finishing off Patricio. 😉

A interesting place to visit with family and kids, the entrance cost is €6 per adult. An old town in the middle of a town. Nice and recomendable to visit
